Fulton County stretches from Milton and Johns Creek in the north through Atlanta to Chattahoochee Hills in the south. Nearly all of the parks once run by Fulton County Parks and Recreation now belong to the cities that incorporated around them, so this guide lists each park under the city or agency that runs it today.
City of South Fulton Parks
Most parks in unincorporated south Fulton became City of South Fulton parks when the city incorporated in 2017. Parks office: 470-809-7275 (470-809-PARK).
Welcome All Park & Multipurpose Facility
Gym, fitness center, two indoor pools, lighted ball fields, tennis courts and picnic shelters.

Burdett Park & Gymnasium
Gym and a large fenced multipurpose field used for baseball, football, soccer and cricket. The Burdett Tennis Center (5975 Old Carriage Dr., 470-809-7181) is nearby.

Sandtown Park & Gymnasium
Lighted ball fields, soccer field, gymnasium, nature trail, picnic shelters and playgrounds.

Sandy Springs Parks

Morgan Falls Overlook Park & Athletic Complex
Riverside overlook park with a playground, trails and pavilion (open until 10 p.m.), plus the Morgan Falls ball fields and dog park.

About 30 acres of urban forest with creeks, nature trails and oaks more than 200 years old.

One of the city’s largest parks, with a gym, lighted fields and courts, playgrounds and a walking trail.

Arts center park plus the Abernathy Greenway, a linear park with a playground built from playable art.

Sandy Springs Historic Site
The spring that named the city, the 1870s Williams-Payne House museum and heritage gardens, run by Heritage Sandy Springs.

North Fulton parks are now run by their cities.
Autrey Mill Nature Preserve
Nature trails, creeks, native plants and 1800s farmstead buildings. Grounds open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; visitor center Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m.

Newtown Park & Ocee Park
Johns Creek’s big athletic parks, open 6 a.m. to midnight. Newtown has fields, courts, a dog park and a multi-use trail; Ocee has lighted ball fields and a walking track.

Providence Park
Reopened by Milton with an accessible paved trail and a 500-foot fishing pier and pavilion on Providence Lake.

Bell Memorial & Birmingham Parks
Bell Memorial has baseball and turf fields and a playground. Birmingham Park has natural-surface trails popular with hikers and equestrians.

Chattahoochee Nature Center
Trails, ponds, a boardwalk and live animal exhibits on the river. Open Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Admission $20 adults, $16 seniors and students, $14 children 3 to 12.

Azalea Park
Riverfront Roswell park with a boat ramp, canoe and kayak launch, picnic area, playground and access to the Roswell Riverwalk.

Chattahoochee Hills, Fairburn & Fulton County
Parks in far south Fulton are run by Chattahoochee Hills and Fairburn. Chattahoochee Hills parks are open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. Parks office: 770-463-8881.
Cochran Mill Park
Miles of hiking and horse trails, waterfalls, old mill sites and primitive camping. Chattahoochee Hills residents park free; non-residents buy a parking pass.

Bear Creek Nature Center
Opened in 2020 on the site of the former Cochran Mill Nature Center, with animal exhibits, a pond and trails.

Rico Park
Ball field, concession stand, playground and picnic tables. No parking fee.

Duncan Park Pool & Splash Pad

Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds
Fulton County-owned trap, skeet and sporting clays range, built for the 1996 Olympic shooting events as the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex. Call ahead for hours.
