Lake Conasauga Overflow Campground - General Information |
Campers have 6 campsites to choose from, equipped with grills, tables and tent pads.
Reservations Reservations are not required. Campsites are on a first come, first serve basis.
Fees: $8 per site per night.
Open: March through December 31. Closed rest of year.
Restrictions: Dogs must be leashed in campground. Campers wishing to utilize Tibbs ATV trail must trailer their ATV to the trailhead.
Closest Towns: The closest towns are Chatsworth, about 20 miles southwest, and Ellijay, about 15 miles southeast of the campground. In these towns, campers will find a variety of grocery stores, restaurants, laundry mats and gas stations.

Mountain Biking - Windy Gap Cycle Trail 4.1 foot travel, mountain bike, and cycle trail. Milma Creek ATV Trail 3.9 mile mountain bikes and ATVs, accessible by Tibbs or Windy Gap trails. Tibbs ORV Trail 3.5 mile mountain bikes, ATVs and foot travel.
Day Hiking - Songbird Foot Trail 1.5 mile loop. Windy Gap Cycle Trail 4.1 miles.. |

Directions: Route change due to road mudslide closures: The only route to Lake Conasauga currently is highway 411 north through Chatsworth and Eton to Crandall, Georgia. After highway 411 changes from 4 to 2 lanes, turn right onto Grassy Street, cross the railroad tracks and turn right. Turn left onto Mill Creek Road, FS 630. Travel to the end of FS 630 and turn right onto West Cowpen, FS 17 to the top of the mountain. Follow directional signs to Lake Conasauga Overflow.
