Phone: Lake Lanier Islands at 770-932-7200- Located on Shadburn Ferry Road, Buford, Georgia - Directions: From I-985 take exit 8 (Friendship Rd) west towards Lake Lanier, take a left on McEver (which will turn into Peachtree Industrial), take a right on Shadburn Ferry Rd and follow it all the way into the park. |
Simpson Park - Amenities: Picnic tables, boat ramp, scenic lake views. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on Simpson Park Road, Gainesville Georgia - Directions: Heading from Gainesville, from Dawsonville Hwy/GA 53, make a left onto Lynncliff Rd (shortly after Lanier Bridge). Follow Lynncliff to Simpson Park Road. Turn left onto Simpson Park Road and follow it to the park. Please note: We visited this park during July 2013 and noticed that it looked abanonded. Although it is free to visit, please be aware that there are fallen tree branches, picnic tables are breaking down, etc. I would proceed with caution when visiting this park and would not go along. |
Six Mile Creek Park - Amenities: Boat ramp, user fee. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville Georgia - Directions: Six Mile Creek Park is located on the west side of Lake Lanier near Six Mile Bridge. From GA 400 take exit 17 and go east towards Lake Lanier; take a right on on Hwy 369 (Browns Bridge Road) and then a right into the park just after Six Mile Creek Bridge. |
Thompson Bridge Park - Amenities: Scenic lake views, boat ramp, boat dock, picnic shelter, ample parking. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off Thompson Bridge Road (GA 60) in Gainesville, Georgia - Directions: Turn off Thompson Bridge Road (Ga. 60) onto Dunlap Landing. Follow Dunlap Landing to park. |

Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off exit 16 on 400 in Forsyth Co. - Directions: Take exit 16 (Pilgrim Mill), off of GA 400, east towards Lake Lanier and follow to the park. |
Toto Creek Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, grills, boat ramp, swim area, camping and beach area. Pets are allowed. Park open all year. Beach open April 1 through third week in September. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on the north of Lake Lanier off Price Rd (GA 136). Directions: Take 400 north to Hwy. 136, turn right, turn right at stop sign, turn left before crossing the bridge. Road ends at the park. |

Van Pugh North Park - Amenities: Restrooms, abundant picnic tables, picnic shelter, grills, playgrounds, boat ramp, beach and swim area and a picnic pavilion. Fee per vehicle to enter. Has free life jacket loaner program. Open all year. Note: No pets allowed. Call to reserve a sheltered grill area next to the pavilion. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located Gaines Ferry Road, Gainesville, Georgia - Directions - take exit 12 (Friendship Rd) west towards Lake Lanier, take a right onto McEver and then a left onto Gaines Ferry Rd which will lead you down to the park entrance. |
Vann's Tavern Park - Amenities: Restrooms, boat launch ramp, dock, launch fee, swimming at beach with white sand. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off Vann Tavern Road, Gainesville Georgia - Directions: Take exit 17 (Hwy 306),off of GA 400, east and then take a right on Hwy 369 (Browns Bridge Road); take a right onto Waldrip Circle and then a right onto Vanns Tavern Road and follow the signs to the park entrance. |
Wahoo Creek Park - Amenities: Picnic tables, boat ramp and secluded paths to lake. Pets are allowed. Boat ramp open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off Mount Vernon Rd. in Gainesville, Georgia - Directions: From I985 take exit 22 (Hwy 129) west towards Lake Lanier; this road will turn into Green street and stay left at the fork to GA-60/Thompson Bridge Rd; turn right at Mt. Vernon Road and the park will be on your right before the bridge (look for the sign). |
War Hill Campground and Day Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, grills, boat ramp, beach, swim area and pets are allowed. Phone: Dawson County Parks at 706-344-3600 - Located On the north end of Lake Lanier, off Ga. 318, Dawsonville Georgia - Directions: From GA 400 take the Hwy 53 exit east towards Lake Lanier, take a left on State Route 318 (War Hill Park Rd) and follow it to the entrance of the park. |

Located in In Forsyth County - Directions: Take exit 14 (Hwy 20), off of GA 400 E, then take a left on Market Place Blvd., take a right on Buford Damn Road and the park will be on your left before you pass over the dam. |
Young Deer Creek Park - This well-maintained scenic park is a wonderful place to visit with family and friends. See wildlife everywhere! Enjoy lovely lakeside picnic tables with grills. There's plenty of bank fishing areas, boat launch with dock, nice playground and more. Pets are welcome. Free admission and parking.
