General Information |
Public Fishing Area is located in northern Floyd County, near Rome, Georgia, on 5,000 acres owned by Oglethorpe Power Corporation. The area includes two recreation lakes totaling 559 acres. Largemouth bass and sunfish are the most common game fish in the lakes; however, channel catfish, black crappie, and hybrid whitestriped bass are also present. Whitetail deer, turkey, and waterfowl frequent the area providing visitors an opportunity to hunt or observe wildlife in a natural setting.
Note: For general fishing information, check the information board or stop by the Visitor Center off Elliott Trail during operating hours (Tues. - Sat. 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). |
