Gilligan's Island Park, Camden County (Closed)

This Park Is Closed
Gilligan's Island was a 57-acre Camden County recreational park built around a spring-fed lake, with trails, a screened pavilion, and kayak and canoe rentals. It was closed in 2009 after county officials discovered the park had been built, back in 2003, on a 26-acre tract that actually belonged to Kings Bay Properties rather than the county. The county could not afford to buy the land, and the Camden County Public Service Authority eventually dismantled the pavilion and picnic tables and barricaded the entrance.

As of late 2025, county officials have discussed reviving the idea of reopening the park, but no funding or timeline has been set. Check with Camden County Parks for the latest.
