Barrow County Museum
The old 1916 Barrow County jail now serves as the headquarters of the Barrow County Historical Society and Museum. It is been rennovated in recent years and is quite an extraordinary building. Visitors to the Museum will discover interesting tidbits of the county history effectively displayed. Located behind the original Barrow County Courthouse. It is Wheelchair Accessible.
The architecture is unique and you will enjoy seeing every nook and corner in this very interesting and magnificent building. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Museum features the original "hanging tower," three original jail cells, as well as hundreds of artifacts donated by citizens and friends of Barrow County. It is truly a place to discover your past.
The Richard B. Russell Exhibit honors the senator from Winder who served 38 years in the United States Senate. Pick up a brochure about "Nodoroc" and the tale of a strange animal called "the wog." Bethlehem Park and Pavilion
Bethlehem's City Park includes a beautiful gazebo, a walking trail and a picnic pavilion which can be rented for events. The pavilion has a full kitchen and bathrooms in the rear. Barrow County Museum
Braselton Georgia Parks
The Town of Braselton currently has a park near downtown Braselton with a playground, tennis courts and a pavilion. The Braselton Visitors Bureau hosts special events including festivals and movies at the park during the year.

One of Braselton's more exciting recreational sites is the Mulberry RiverWalk along the Mulberry River north of Interstate 85. The Mulberry River derives its name from the Cherokee Indians referring to Kuwa yi- translating to Mulberry Place. Jackson County history also lists Tishmaqgu as another name for this River, possibly of the Creek Indian origins.

The Mulberry River and its banks are protected and preserved. There are 200 acres along this river in Braselton. There is a walking path with perennial gardens, footbridges and picnic areas along the river to enjoy. Please note that this is a naturalized trail and not paved. Park at the public parking lot. Fort Yargo State Park
This popular 1816-acre park features a 1792 log fort built by settlers for protection against Creek and Cherokee Indians. Today, visitors come to Fort Yargo for its wide variety of outdoor recreation and scenery. See More info about Fort Yargo State Park here.
Camp Twin Lakes - Will-A-Way
Camp Twin Lakes opened its second fully-accessible overnight campsite at Will-A-Way in Fort Yargo State Park. In partnership with the State of Georgia, Camp Twin Lakes is managing this campsite inside the state park. Camp Twin Lakes funded extensive upgrades at CTL-Will-A-Way, including the renovation of all camper cabins, the medical lodge and other camp buildings, as well as the addition of a new swimming pool, high and low ropes adventure courses, archery and more. City of Auburn Ballfields (Parks Mill Rd)
The City of Auburn's newest Parks and Leisure facility offers a 300 ft. baseball and softball field. This current project recently completed phase one of a multi-phased project. In the future this facility will offer four more baseball and softball diamonds, one multi-purpose field, walking trails throughout the 20 acre park, two playground pads, and user amenities such as storage, concessions, press boxes, and restrooms. This facility will be home to our local Auburn Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball Association. In providing a new facility for ADY's programs the facility will offer opportunities to attract local and regional athletic programs and events. Call for more info. James Shackelford Memorial Park

Fort Yargo State Park Yurt

Pine Hills Golf Club
Built in the early 1960's, Pine Hills Golf Club is a wonderful public golf course where friends, family, and members of all ages can come an enjoy 18 holes of a great game of golf. The course staff is friendly, helpful, and simply just want you to have a great experience here at Pine Hills Golf Club. Tee times are available for the weekends and holidays, but otherwise you can simply stop by any time for great golf at a great price. Call for more info. The Chimney's Golf Course
One of the most unique features of this picturesque course layout is the intricate hand-laid rockwork that surrounds many of the tees, greens and fairways using the naturally occuring rock from the site. The Roy E. Parks Playground
Explore the newest addition to the City of Auburn's ongoing effort to provide safe and clean places for our children to play. It is surrounded by a 6’ wrought iron fence with vintage-style lighting. Explore and enjoy a whimsical mural on a retaining wall and a variety of brightly colored play equipment. There are four picnic tables located at this park along with eight benches located throughout the park. Parental supervision is required at this park. Winder Picnic Pavilion
This pavilion accomodates over 150 people and is perfect for family reunions, barbecues and other large outdoor gatherings. The Pavilion provides covered seating with picnic tables, a large barbecue pit, small grills, outdoor kitchen facilities and bathroom facilities. An uncovered picnic table with a small grill and four picnic tables is also available under a grove of stately old oak trees nearby. Future Park
Veterans' Memorial Park
The City of Winder wants to honor the men and women of the Winder area - past and present - who have served this nation in its armed forces. Veterans and their families have made sacrifices which should long be remembered. A park with engraved bricks honoring veterans will be constructed adjacent to the Winder Community Center on Athens Street in Winder. Mayor Buddy Ouzts, members of the Winder City Council, and the Veterans' Commemorative Committee have initiated this project to provide Winder with a permanent recognition and tribute to the veterans who have served and continue to serve our nation.
