The Georgia Watercolor Society will showcase the best watercolor artist in Georgia in their 2010 Members's Exhibition at the Quinlan. Photographer Carlton R. Safford will have his first solo exhibition at the Quinlan. Jill & Robert Ediger, a husband and wife team, exhibition "Aglam" takes us through the cobbled streets of French villages, Zen-like gardens in the East Coast and the South, and on to unique views of the American West. Pamela Keene will be showcasing her photography, "Colors of the World," from her travels of Africa, Italy, Greece, France, and a wide array of colorful and tantalizing botanicals highlight photography by Keene.

This event is a great way to show off your special ride! 2010 is the 4th April-thru-October season that Blairsville Cruisers organize events in Downtown Blairsville. Crowds of car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts are drawn to see and/or display classic and antique vehicles. Don't be surprise to find local musicians jamming on the Square. Mountain Music and Medicine Show - 9/4/10 at 7:30 pm
The setting is Dahlonega from Gold Rush days of the early 1800s to modern times of the early 1950s---? Doc Johnson's traveling Miracle Medicine Show has come to town and set up on the Square in front of Nix's Store, the hub of local commerce and social center of the area. The scene occasionally shifts to "street scene " short skits where local people comment on the goings on of the day, mixing local history, culture and humor in the unique Southern Appalachian style of the time period. This is all presented in a live old-time Radio broadcast; sort of like going back in time without leaving your living room! $15 ticket. This guided hike will take you from rim to river while learning about the gorge's unique environments. Be sure to wear proper footwear (no flip-flops or crocs). Featuring Georgia's largest mountain ride. Six Gap Century: This ultra-challenging route takes you up down six of the steepest climbs in the North Georgia Mountains. Test your stamina with more than 10,700 feet of vertical climbing over the 100-mile course. Elevations for the six gaps in this ride range from 2,949 feet to 3,490 feet. Hemockfest event is an annual bluegrass, blues, and rock music festival held to benefit efforts to save the Hemlock trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are threatened by an invasive parasite, the wooly adelgid. Visitors can come for a day or camp out for the weekend at the beautiful Starbridge Retreat, a 40-acre site near historic Dahlonega (about an hour north of Atlanta, GPS coordinates: 34 30' 54'' -83 53' 34.8"), featuring primitive campsites, a lake, and a scenic music venue. 2011 Six Gap Century and Three Gap Fifty - 9/25/11
Featuring Georgia's Premier Cycling Venue, the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty boasts many of the same roads and mountain climbs as the elite Tour de Georgia. Come ride the Ride of the Pros! The Six Gap Century’s ultra challenging route takes you up and down six of the steepest climbs in the North Georgia Mountains. Test your stamina with more than 11,200 feet of vertical climbing over the 100 mile course. Elevations for the six gaps in this ride range from 2,949 feet to 3,490 feet. The toughest climb, Hogpen Gap, will test even the strongest riders, averaging a 7% grade for seven miles, with sections as steep as 15%. The Three Gap Fifty’s alternative route offers half the gaps and half the distance, but is nevertheless a demanding and challenging course.
