| The Cromer family settled along Nails Creek in Franklin County in 1845 and ran a woolen mill on the site before the Civil War. This historic 1906 covered bridge, also known as Nails Creek Covered Bridge, replaced an earlier crossing and was built by J. M. "Pink" Hunt using the Town lattice truss design, its web of criss-crossing planks pinned together with wooden pegs rather than nails. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Bridge Description: Its truss is Town Lattice. It was built in 1906 by J. M. "Pink" Hunt. This bridge is not open to traffic. There is a historical marker at this bridge. It has also been known as Nails Creek Covered Bridge. Free admission and parking.
